Trail Running is an increasingly popular sport which consists of both running and hiking, normally over long distances and rough terrain. For many events, it will take place over mountainous areas and steep hills, because trail running is literally about endurance and stamina, which is why just a normal run for these competitors will just not do!
When it comes to the things you need to take part, you will need to look at making sure you have a decent level of fitness and stamina when you start taking part in trail running, because you are going to need both. You cannot really just jump out of bed one Saturday morning and decide that you are going to take part on a trail run, you need to have a certain level of fitness and physique, else you are going to do yourself harm and injury.
Many trail runners will have special shoes that are designed for this kind of running, but apart from that, you can pretty much wear what you want as long as it is suitable for the kind of running you will be doing. Because of the general locations that trail runs take part in, you need to consider the temperature as well, because the higher you go the more colder you are likely to be.
